Are you a young professional looking to #GIVEBACK to the community by mentoring, but don't know what organizations are available? Join DYP as we present our inaugural Mentor Match event, where we give the stage to awesome organizations providing you with substantive mentoring opportunities in the Metro Detroit area. We have received applications from organizations committed to providing you opportunties to mentor others, serving a variety of mission statements and causes.

Join us on Wednesday, June 20 from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM at The Loft at 1420. In addition to finding an organization that suits you, heavy hors d'oeuvres will be provided, as well raffle prizes for potential volunteers.This event is free and open to the public, but registration is required, so sign up today.

Our selected organizations will be announced soon! Similar to our popular, Service in the City Mixer, one crowd-selected organization will receive a monetary gift from DYP to help continue their community efforts, so your attendance matters! Share with your network to help grow attendance and support for your favorite organization.

Event is FREE for members and non-members but registration is required.

QUESTIONS + ANSWERS

Q: Will I be trained for the position?
A: Yes! All of the participating organizations have noted that training will be provided upon mutual acceptance of the volunteer arrangement.

Q: What type of time commitment is required?
A: With the exception of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Detroit, all of the participating organizations have both ad-hoc (event-related, one-off engagements throughout the year) and long-term, regular commitments.

Q: Is there any professional development opportunities available to me?
A: Several participating organizations have noted opportunities to network with board members and other leaders in the community, training, leadership opportunities, access to events, resume-building engagements (Winning Futures provides a mentorship certification), and invaluable experience!
