  • December 5, 2014: Service in the City: Adopt-A-Child Christmas Party. More than 30 DYP members and supporters joined the North End Youth Improvement Council in providing essential gifts to needy children. Each child received a warm coat, two outfits and a toy. Click here for pictures. 
  • December 4, 2014: Annual Holiday Party @ Willy's Detroit. DYP members and friends gathered at one of the hottest stores in town, Willy's Detroit, to get an early start on Christmas shopping and mingle with great friends in an awesome space. DYP raffled off great prizes from Shinola, Willy's Detroit's sister store. Click here for pictures. 
  • November 13, 2014: Social Hour @ Tony V's Tavern
  • October 2, 2014: 4th Annual Vanguard Awards. DYP honored 15 young professionals and entrepreneurs that are excelling in their professional endeavors and making a difference in the Metro-Detroit community. Held at Andiamo Detroit Riverfront, a sold out crowd of young professionals came out to support their peers being recognized for their accomplishments. Many thanks to our honorees, our host, Andrew Humphrey, our sponsor, Generation Opportunity, DYP team members, and everyone in attendance.   • August 23, 2014: Case of the Dead Paparazzi: An Interactive Scavenger Hunt. 60+ DYP members and supporters gathered at Grand Circus Park to embark upon a real life scavenger hunt around downtown Detroit. Armed with  a few clues, participants scoured the streets of Detroit to find more clues and ultimately discover the identity of the "killer". The event ended with our end of summer rooftop party at Bookies Bar & Grill. Click here for pictures.

  • October 26, 2013: Greening of Detroit Tree Dedication Ceremony. DYP honored past member, Craig Renke, at Greening of Detroit's Tree Dedication Ceremony.  
  •  October 14, 2013: Tour of Rock Ventures and Networking Mixer with Dan Gilbert. 
  •  July 25, 2013: Talk to Me...An Evening with Charlie LeDuff. DYP partnered with The Detroit Public Library to have a moderated, yet frank and open discussion between Charlie and the audience in an intimate setting. We discussed his latest book, "Detroit: An American Autopsy", and dive into LeDuff's world, where everything is on the table and "off the chain." 
  • July 19, 2013: DYP Happy Hour at the Detroit Institute of Arts newly renovated Kresge Court. 
  •  June 27: Networking Mixer at 24 Grille.  
  •  June 25, 2013: First Annual DYP Community Service Mixer. DYP invited several community organizations to share their mission and services with DYP members and invite them to get involved. The organizations that participated included Gleaners Community Food Bank, Greening of Detroit, Gilda's Club, Detroit CERT, United Way for SE Michigan, Vista Maria and Winning Futures.   •  June 20, 2013: DYP Meets D:hive - Networking Mixer. DYP wants to make sure that its members are informed of resources and services available to young professionals seeking to live, work or play downtown Detroit. D:hive, a DDP organization, provides many great services such as practically free bus tours of Detroit, job and intern listings, tools to find housing, resources to start a small business and much more!
  • June 6, 2013:  General Membership Meeting with Mike Brennan (CEO of United Way for Southeastern Michigan). DYP members had an opportunity to discuss Mike’s success story and the challenges in life that led him to follow his passion. Mike recommended that all members take StrengthFinders2.0 so that we could know our strengths and make career choices that allow us to play on those strengths. Click HERE for a great overview of some of the educational services that United Way provides in the Metro-Detroit area.   • June 1, 2013: Volunteering with Greening of Detroit.   DYP had a great time assisting the Greening of Detroit plant trees in Stein Playground and along the Cathedral St.median. The Greening of Detroit is a well-established, nonprofit resource agency that partners with federal, state and local agencies, corporations and foundations to assist neighborhood groups, churches and schools in their efforts to improve the ecosystem in Detroit through tree planting projects, environmental education, urban agriculture, open space reclamation, vacant land management, and workforce development programs.
  • May 29, 2013: Special Roundtable Discussion with SCORE. DYP brought entrepreneurs of all stages together for a round table discussion about the challenges small businesses face today. This event was led by management consultant and entrepreneurship coach Jim Muir of SCORE. SCORE is dedicated to educate entrepreneurs and grow small businesses, to review all that SCORE has to offer locally, please visit their web-site:http://detroit.score.org/. for more information about the services that SCORE can provide to help you start and run your business.

  • March 26, 2013: Volunteer Events with Gleaners Food Bank.  DYP members had a fun afternoon of community service at Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan!  Gleaners fights hunger in southeastern Michigan and provides millions of pounds of donated and purchased food to people in need.
  • March 25, 2013: Town Hall with Governor Snyder. DYP members and other young professionals in the Metro-Detroit community gathered to discuss our concerns regarding the State of Michigan and the City of Detroit with Governor Snyder. You can watch the event HERE. Kurt gave us great insight and valuable information concerning the past and present demographics of Detroit.
