OMAR ABURASHED
Omar is a partner and attorney at Aref & Rashed PLLC and Founder of OrdinaryKidz LLC. An entrepreneur, Omar is also an artist and an independent record label owner. From West Bloomfield, MI, Omar earned his BA from Albion College and his JD from the University of Detroit-Mercy School of Law.
A young professional, Omar has already accomplished lots. First, Omar co-founded a law firm. Second, he founded OrdinaryKidz, an indie record label where he is set to release his second album. Third, Omar likes to believe he is a good son, brother and uncle! Well, we are sure that he is all three of those things. A true Michigan man, Omar says,
“My roots are in Michigan and I couldn’t leave my family, friends, and a place I’ve grown to adore over my short lifetime.”
Omar wants to be part of Detroit's comeback and connect with others that share a similar vision for what the individuals and the city are capable of. Omar believes DYP has created a community of hungry young people with big dreams and objectives and that Detroit's collective success has much more benefit than individual success, and DYP offers an avenue to achieve that.
When Omar is not working on making Detroit a better place, he is reading, creating poetry & music, taking long walks, or spending time with family.
JAMI POLK
Jami is the CEO of the Bravo Foundation, which provides shelter, resources, and education to at-risk young women. Jami earned a BA in Healthcare Administration and MBA from the University of Phoenix. A native of Detroit, Jami obtained both degrees while working and being a single mother to three children.
Jami is proud of her accomplishments in business and is excited about her non-profit organization. Jami has built a career on public service and caring for the lives of those around her.

Jami joined DYP to have the opportunity to network with other professionals and make a difference in the community. She hopes to make and maintain great relationships. Jami loves to work out, travel, and read in her spare time.
